“John…why are you asleep?”
Ta da! John!Hobbes still reminds me of Mr. Rogers.
(BTW I went and fixed the button-hole on the other one)
So uh…. this happened thanks to anotherforworkingdays, revolutionaryjo and ladybessyboo and Twitter.
(Sherlock!Calvin and John!Hobbes are on the way as well. I just didn’t have time to color them at work.)
EDIT: I’ve put in Sherlock’s button-hole and turned on a layer I apparently turned off.
John Watson and Sherlock Holmes ballpoint pen sketches I did at work… It’s been a while since I did realistic style.
Dancing Lessons
“Who taught you how to dance?”
“You did.”
“Well… I did a fine job.”
(Special thanks to kiwiberries for helping me find my pen)
An exercise in working out parchment textures in photoshop…
I spent more time on this drawing than I initially intended (damn you and your writing Leonardo!) since really all I wanted to work out was a. how to get what I draw to look how I want on parchment and b. how to write like Leonardo da Vinci. Mission accomplished. Drawing in Leonardo’s style is next… wish me luck.
Note: I am rather purposely not translating what the text says. I’m a terrible writer and you don’t want to read it. But if you really want to know you’ll have to translate it on your own. I do not claim to be at all fluent in Italian so blame google translate for any mistakes.
When I made empty promises of art earlier this week this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind but work was really boring…
I had to change some things as the way it’s drawn on the show doesn’t actually work. You can check out the flattened versions here and here.
So… I wasn’t going to do Tiger and Bunny for my pumpkin this year because I thought they’d be a bit intricate for the amount of work i wanted to put in.
…Oops…
(Two pics because I couldn’t decide which I liked best)
Favorite Professor

Professor R.J. Lupin (with a nod to McGonagall)
JK Rowling said it best with, “…he’s a nice man and a wonderful teacher – in fact he’s the one time I’ve written a teacher… the kind of teacher I’d have loved to have had. McGonagall is a good teacher but scary at times.”
All through PoA I totally adored Lupin. Finally! A great perfect teacher! He connected with the kids and genuinely got excited when they were doing well. Honestly, he was my favorite character until that mutt Sirius Black wandered onto the scene. Like Black, the more I learned about Lupin the more I loved him. He’s very complex and there’s always something new to discover. Plus, what a bonus having my two favorite characters just happen to become the best OTP ever.

Favorite Villain

Narcissa Malfoy
I don’t really count her as a villain, but she’s as close as I get to genuinely liking any of the baddies. I love Cissy because she is an example of a perfect Slytherin. She will do anything and everything necessary to take care of the people she loves and everyone else can go to hell and that includes family (I’m looking at you, Lucius Malfoy, don’t you dare touch her baby boy, she will slice your hand off).
Note on the drawing: I drew Sirius without a shirt yesterday ‘cause it seemed natural, so today I figured I’d stick with the trend and not bother picking clothes for Cissy either. I find it interesting that Sirius with no shirt was natural but Cissy without one is kind of strange…
